Plantation of Butterfly Garden at Khatpewadi Lake, Pirangut

Rotary Club of Pune Kothrud under the Presidentship of Rtn.Manish Didmishe started the Rotary Year 2024-25 with a wonderful project of plantation of trees to make a beautiful butterfly garden at Khatpewadi Lake, Pirangut. The Lake is the origin point of Ramnadi and RCPK is proudly associated with Kirloskar Vasundhara Foundation in the Ramnadi Restoration Project.

Rotarians, Partners and Rotaractors from RCPK planted over 100 saplings which will grow to make a beautiful butterfly garden at the banks of the lake. Butterfly garden plays a crucial role in conserving and promoting habitat for butterflies. Butterflies are not only beautiful and attractive but have an important role to play in pollination and serve as an indicator of ecosystem’s health.

The project shall have impact on over 10000 beneficiaries living and cultivating farms around the lake. The project was initiated with an encouraging participation of over 20 Rotarians and partners from the club.
