Rotary Club of Pune Far East's Saksham Initiative Transforms Education in Rural Schools Back

The Rotary Club of Pune Far East is proud to announce the successful implementation of its signature project, Saksham, aimed at revolutionizing education in rural schools. In many of these schools, students struggle with outdated teaching methods and a lack of modern educational tools, leading to poor quality education. The challenges were further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced schools in India to shut down for almost two years.

Project Saksham introduces the latest technology in school education to ensure students regain their interest in learning. The fun and engaging audio-visual animated content reduces absenteeism and dropouts, fostering better conceptual understanding. This innovative approach not only helps students score higher marks but also opens up better opportunities for higher education.

During visits to various schools, our members found a strong demand for e-learning solutions as the best intervention for improving education quality. With well-trained teachers and improved teaching methodologies, coupled with advanced technology, we aim to sustain students' interest in learning.

The Rotary Club has previously provided similar e-learning tools to neighboring schools and the success and impact of these projects have been a significant motivating factor for other schools to request the same intervention. As a result of these efforts, many rural schools are now achieving 100% results, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Saksham initiative in transforming education.

The Rotary Club of Pune Far East remains committed to empowering rural schools with the tools and resources needed for quality education, ensuring a brighter future for all students.
