In a significant development, the Rotary Club of Pune Deccan Gymkhana, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Junnar Shivneri and Rotary Club of Alephata Central, successfully completed the "Anandi Shala" Global Grant project. The project was inaugurated on February 21st, 2024, by the esteemed District Governor, Manjoo, marking a milestone in the clubs' efforts to uplift educational infrastructure.
The "Anandi Shala" project aimed to enhance the learning environment and facilities for three beneficiary schools: Saraswati Vidhyalaya in Udapur, Shivchhatrapati Madhyamic Vidhyalaya in Alephata and Prathmic Vidhyamandir in Barav, all located in Taluka Junnar. The total budget for the project amounted to 31930 USD (approximately INR 2618127), directly benefiting over 2000 students.
Key items delivered as part of the project include toilet blocks for girls, e-learning kits, smart TV units, science lab setups, benches, whiteboards, cupboards, water purifiers, sports materials and books for libraries. Additionally, teachers and staff from the beneficiary schools underwent training sessions on various topics, including effective teaching methods and proper sanitation practices (WASH training).
The successful completion of the "Anandi Shala" project highlights Rotary Club of Pune Deccan Gymkhana's commitment to improving educational facilities and opportunities for students in underserved communities.
