In a collaborative effort with the Pune Municipal Corporation Garden Department, Rotary Club of Pune Gandhi Bhavan, under the Avenue of Public Image, successfully implemented the 'First Aid Box Donation Project.' This initiative involved the installation of three first aid box units in three prominent gardens across the city.
On January 26, Club installed first aid box units in Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Garden, Patwardhan Baug, and Shahid Major Pradeep Tathwade Garden. The following day, on January 27, another unit was installed in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Garden on Jangli Maharaj Road, all falling under the purview of the Public Image Avenue.
The innovative idea of installing first aid boxes was proposed by Dr. Chitralekha Mahajan, the Public Image Director at RCPGB. Rotary signboards indicating the availability of this facility were strategically placed near the ticket window and the garden entrance. This concept has garnered appreciation from both garden authorities and citizens who visit these recreational spaces daily.
The project holds significant benefits for people of all age groups who frequent the gardens. The contact number of RCPGB is also shared with the boxes for easy refilling purposes. The success of this initiative has paved the way for the installation of three more units in Balasaheb Thakre Garden, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Garden, and Thorat Garden, further enhancing safety measures in these public spaces.
