Rotary District Economic & Community Development Team Initiative Back

Rotary District 3131 has taken a Farm to Fork mission_Empowering rural Farmers to connect with Urban buyers

District Economic and Community development team of RID 3131along with 12 Rotary Clubs organised a one day event on 19th October at College of Agriculture Pune to connect rural farmer producer companies and urban buyers to support and boost agricultural economy. Balasaheb Gitte,Kavya Dhobale and Sameer  Dombe the youth Agriprenuers were invited to share their knowledge and wisdom along with challenges they face in their agri Entreprenuership journey.This initiative was supported by Agriculture department of Maharashtra.Sanjay Patil who worked for conservation of indigenous crops,wild edible plants for nutritional security and climate change context for the state of Maharashtra,Gujrat and Odisha since last 18 years  was conferred with District Vocational Excellence award.Some of the rural farmer producer companies were also recognised for their distinguished agricultural work.Buyer Seller meet was  organised amongst Farmer Producer Companies and Buyers to connect them for domestic and global opportunities for production by farmers.

The event was attended by various farmers from Maharashtra.The event was guided by IAS Shekhar Gaikwad,DG Rtn. Shital Shah(RID3131),IPDG Rtn. Swati Herkal (RID3132),DGE Rtn. Santosh Marathe(RID3131),District Agriculture Officer Sanjay Kachole and Director Rtn. Vijay Kalbhor.

Rtn. Pradip Khedkar had conceptualised the event and is working to develop the digitalised app and Rotary Farmer Facilitation Centre for the upliftment of farmers in long run to connect them with potential urban and global  buyers with the help of Agriculture and Cooperative department of Maharashtra.
