On the 13th September R.C.P. Sports City from Rotary District 3131 organized Their Annual Ganesh Maha Aarti programme at Balkalyan Sanstha for special children in Pune. This institute is dedicated to holistic welfare of individuals with diverse abilities. Their mission is to empower specially challenged children across various disability segments. By providing foundational education to specially abled individuals , focusing on robust character development and instilling confidence along with sense of independence in their personalities.
Balkalyan offers recreational and sporting opportunities along with art & Craft Drawing and Painting , Music and Dance ,swimming & Gymnastics to over 4000 students from over 85 special schools at no cost.
“SHIKHANDI”- A Unique dhol Tasha Team of self reliant Trans people who create unity through diversity in the trans community. The name of the band Distinctly can be seen as the historical name SHIKHANDI . In this transgender women , men, LGBT community is heavily involved. By participating in such musical performances, the entire transgender community wants to demonstrate unique display of “ Respect, power and equity”.
R.C.Pune Sports City by organizing the Maha aarti programme got -The Shikhandi Band to play the drums and make the special children give up their inhibitions and come out of their shells of mental blocks to enjoy being with Differently abled humans freely .It was a heartwarming scene to see specially abled children joyfully dance alongside transgender musicians who played vibrant beats on drums and other band instruments. The rhythmic sounds filled the air , creating an inclusive and energetic atmosphere where everyone was united by music. The event symbolized acceptance , love and the power of music to bridge differences and bring people together.
