Data Axle and Rotary Club Pune Camp launched a transformative initiative to empower rural, underprivileged, long-distance school-going girls by donating 50 bicycles. This initiative, part of a broader effort to engage corporate employees in impactful social projects, has made a significant difference in the lives of these young women.
The Cycle Bank initiative aims to reduce the travel time to school, ensure regular attendance and promote safety and fitness among the beneficiaries. A comprehensive survey was conducted for 60 girls, and 50 were selected based on their needs and circumstances.
The program was guided by Vishal Bhasin, Technical Director at Data Axle and attended by Pravin Chaurasia, Director of Dev-Ops, Meenakshi Sachdeva, Head of Human Resources, employees of Data Axle and Rotarians of Rotary Club Pune Camp. Their collective efforts underscore the power of collaboration between the corporate sector and community organizations in driving positive change.
This project not only addresses the immediate transportation needs of the girls but also fosters a culture of fitness and resilience. The bicycles will significantly cut down their travel time to school, ensuring they arrive safely and on time, ready to learn and participate fully in their education.
The Cycle Bank initiative by Data Axle and Rotary Club Pune Camp is a shining example of how corporate engagement in social projects can create lasting impacts and enhance the quality of life for underprivileged communities.
