Dandiya Raas - A Fund Raising Event by Rotary Club of Poona

Friends, families and fellow Rotarians excitedly gathered together in the festive and lively ambience of the club's yearly Fund-Raising Event – ‘Dandiya Raas’ held at the Poona Club on the 4th of October, raking in sponsorship of more than 13 lakh and donations of more than 6 lakh rupees. The event was well-coordinated by the dynamic MoC Prashant and his team from PS Academy. With title sponsor Venkys, the event garnered attendance of more than 600 persons including the presence of inbound RYE students and the young strapping lads from AFMC. Later prizes for best dressed and best dancers were awarded by DG Rtn. Shital Shah and First Lady Rtn. Ragini Shah.

This signature fund raising event of the Rotary Club of Poona was started by its very own PP Rtn.Praful Shah in the year 1998 and is a much awaited and loved event for the members.

Installation of Interact Club

On 21st October Rotary Club of Poona installed a new team of its Interact club at St. Arnold Central School which was hosted by Interact Chairman Rtn. Daljeet Raizada .

PP Rtn.Deepak Thacker provided basic information to the students about Interact and its working, while IPP NPS Rtn.Bakshi  spoke about the kinds of projects that Interact can take up. President Maj Gen Rtn.Amar Krishna spoke about the mental health and inner self and also quizzed the students, giving gifts to those who gave the right answers. Hon. Club Secretary Rtn.Aarti Thacker later spoke about the role of Directors in the team.
