It is a Program of Rotary India Literacy Mission to select primary schools in our area and provide / upgrade infrastructural and co-scholastic facilities to make them attractive and happy learning/teaching places for students and teachers.

What makes a Happy School?

• Painted, well maintained and secure school building.
• Adequate and functional separate toilets for boys & girls.
• Hand washing stations.
• Clean and adequate drinking water for both students and teachers.
• Play material, games and sports equipment.
• Benches, desks for students.
• Well maintained space for teaching staff.
• Shoes and School Bags for students.s
• E learning and other skill programs.

Working on fulfilling these facilities means working on Happy school. Our Dist. 3131 is pioneer in working on this program for several years. Many clubs have successfully completed global grants, utilised CSR grant and even members have contributed to fulfil the needs of this project. Small clubs had also joined with bigger clubs in executing this Happy School Project in the past.

RILM recognises the clubs in making happy school, with Star recognition if one school is done in a Rotary year. Super star if 3 schools done. Mega star if 5 schools are done. Supreme star if 10 schools and Majestic star if 15 schools are done in a year.

To achieve District goal of making 100 Happy Schools in a year, many clubs have come forward to take up some of the Schools.   We also have signed MOU with youth build foundation for working together for upgrading the facilities of the needy schools.

We he District team of 20 members are working hard to support all Presidents to execute this ambitious project of RILM.
