In the spirit of Sankranti, Rotary Club of Pune Baner embraced tradition with fervor on January 19, 2024, at the Bal Kalyan Sanstha. The club organized a special Sankranti Haldikunku meeting, transforming the celebration into a green initiative in alignment with the Violet committee's guidelines under the Avenue of Club Admin.
The event showcased a decorative set-up adorned with kite designs, flower rangolis, and eco-friendly motifs. Notably, all items used for the celebration were nature-friendly, eliminating the use of tissue paper, water bottles, and thermocol.
In addition to the festive atmosphere and homemade Maharashtrian cuisine, the meeting became a platform for special recognitions and contributions. Mr. Shyam Kajale, the CFO of Sanghvi Movers, graced the occasion as the chief guest and generously donated a CSR contribution of Rs. 2.5 lakhs for the club's signature project, the epilepsy surgeries project.
President Rtn. Jigneash Karria took the opportunity to acknowledge outstanding contributions by club members during Quarters 1 and 2 of the current year. This unique initiative involved presenting special mementos and trophies to motivate and thank those who significantly contributed to the club.
Adding to the diversity of the event, the inbound Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) student from Mexico, Valeria, captivated the audience with an enthralling presentation about her home country.
The meeting, graced by the presence of First Lady Prreeya Karria, Secretary Vaishali Zumbre, Treasurer Unmesh Risbood, and other members, proved to be a vibrant blend of traditional celebration, philanthropy, and recognition of excellence.
