The Rotary Club of Pune Pride has illuminated the path to better education by installing a solar-powered lighting system in rural schools across the villages of Chandwane, Kumbale, Bope and Waghmachi in Bhor Taluka. This initiative ensures that around 100 students can study without interruption even after sunset, while the installation of fans will provide much-needed comfort during the daytime heat.
The project was officially inaugurated on May 19, 2024, by First Lady Rotarian Sarita Bapat and witnessed the presence of Village Sarpanch Chhaya Sapkal, RCPP President Sudhir Bapat, Community Director Anil Kasodekar, Club Secretary Vaishali Dev, along with other Rotarians, students and local residents. This impactful project received financial backing from A4 Technology, Vinayak Engineering and Rotarian Dr. Deepak Kelkar, with Esha Solar LLP as the project partner.
This remarkable effort not only enhances the learning environment for students but also sets a precedent for sustainable development in rural education. By harnessing solar power, the Rotary Club of Pune Pride is paving the way for brighter futures, ensuring that the next generation has the tools and comfort they need to succeed.
