We are very much glad to release the 3rd issue of GML( Magical Innings) on the auspicious day that is Teacher's Day 5th September 2024.

We all know that in India, Teachers Day is celebrated on 5th September to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and this tradition started from 1962. Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on 5th September 1888. He was a philosopher, scholar, teacher and politician and his dedicated work towards education made his birthday an important day in the history of India. He was the first Vice - President and second President of the Independent Nation of India. He was the recipient of Bharat Ratna.

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a friendly teacher and he was popular among his students. He had developed a very friendly relation with a students and used to sit always in front of them to have a open and problem solving discussion.

So one day his students and friends requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday in a lavish way. But then the idea suggested by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was something extraordinary. He said that it would be his pride and honour if they celebrate his birthday in Respect of all Teachers. And since then this Day 5th September is celebrated as teachers day.

We all know that teachers play a very important role in each one's life. Teachers are the one who shape our life, teaches us the discipline, imparts knowledge, shows us the right path towards success. We can also say that teachers have been the architect of the society and without them no society can walk in the path of progression.

So let's celebrate the Teachers Day. Let's salute all the teachers as they have shown us the path towards Success and Modesty.

It's a proud moment to express our  Gratitude towards our teachers through our GML.

We all know that Our GML is a blend of interesting informative topics, throwing the light on creativity, inspiring distinguished  activities  done by variety of Rotary clubs, sharing the know how of all the Rotary clubs from District 3131,Rotary Quiz and most imortant is sharing the valuable thoughts of our DG Rtn.Shital Shah. We are having Rotary Quiz which will give you a best opportunity to get connected to the Rotary world. We have announced the result of winners of August month. This time only one participant could attempt all the answers correct. Next time we expect a better response. Kindly note that maximum participating Rotarians and Spouses throughout the year in this Rotary Quiz will be specially acknowledged at the end of the year.

We are sure that you will enjoy reading the variety of poems from creative corner. As September is a literacy month we are having a poem on literacy and to celebrate Teachers Day, we have one poem dedicated to the teacher and the third poem which is again quite interesting.

 So stay tuned to our own colourful GML Magical Innings which is dedicated to the literacy month, appreciating the District events and celebrating the Rotary Work by all means!
