Vocational Visit to National Defence Academy, Pune

Members of Rotary Club of Pune Central along with their family members on Sunday, 5th January 2025 undertook an enriching vocational visit to the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) Pune, a premier institute that shapes future leaders of the armed forces. The visit aimed to provide insights into the rigorous training, discipline, and values instilled in cadets to prepare them for service to the nation.

The members were warmly welcomed and taken on a guided tour of the sprawling campus, including its iconic landmarks, state-of-the-art training facilities, and historical monuments that reflect the Academy's glorious legacy. A special short film on NDA highlighted the Academy’s role in fostering unity, leadership, and service to the nation.

As a gesture of appreciation and goodwill, Brig. PKM Raja, President, RY 2024 - 25, Rotary Club of Pune Central, presented a memento to the Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, AVSM, NM, Commandant of the National Defence Academy. This token symbolized Rotary's respect for the Academy’s invaluable contribution to nation-building and its alignment with Rotary’s ethos of leadership and service above self.

The interaction with the Commandant Vice Admiral, Gurcharan Singh was enlightening and inspiring, leaving the members with a profound sense of pride and admiration for the Academy’s mission. 

The visit reinforced the importance of vocational excellence and community service, encouraging the Rotary members to continue their commitment to fostering leadership and integrity in their spheres of influence.
