In a significant step towards environmental conservation and sustainable water management, the Sharadashram Primary Ashram School in Shirgaon received a sewage treatment plant (STP) valued at 7.50 lakhs on Thursday, April 11. This generous initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Rotary Club of Poona West and the Rotary Club of Pune Bavdhan Elite, with support from Wolters Kluwer India as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The STP will utilize a patented process to treat water, making it suitable for reuse in plants and toilets, thereby conserving water resources and promoting a greener environment.
The inauguration ceremony, graced by the presence of distinguished guests, was led by DG Manjoo Phadke. Among the attendees were the Presidents of both Rotary Clubs, Rotarian Vipin Ghate and Rotarian Yogesh Bhangale, as well as Mr. Prakash Deole, President and former MLA of Saibaba Mandir Trust in Shirgaon. Trustees Sapna Lalchandani and Ravi Jadhav, along with Project Technology Developer Rajendra Saraf and a number of Rotary members, also participated in the event.
During the ceremony, DG Manjoo Phadke underscored the significance of such initiatives in protecting the environment, while Mr. Prakash Deole commended Rotary for their dedication, emphasizing the fulfillment derived from such impactful endeavors.
The successful implementation of this project stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and community-driven initiatives in fostering sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
