In a momentous event, the Rotary Club Of Nigdi-Pune presented the Peace Building Award to Florina Xavier and Ashok Xavier for their outstanding contributions to refugee communities in Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and India. The distinguished award ceremony took place on January 5th, with Rotary International Director PDG Rtn. Virpi Honkala, PDG Rtn. Matti Honkala, Rotary District 3131 Peace Director Rtn. Dr. Prashant Khankhoje, along with Rotary Club Of Nigdi-Pune President Rtn. Harbindar Singh, First Lady Rtn. Kamaljeet Kaur, Club Admin Rtn. Dr. Ravindra Kadam, Vocational Chairman Rtn. Gautam Doshi, and Peace Director PP Rtn. Jagmohan Bhurji presenting the award.
The event garnered widespread participation, with Rotaractors and non-Rotarians invited to witness the grand ceremony. Florina Xavier, in an engaging discussion, shed light on critical issues and emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about peace among the masses.
