APF (आपना पुरा फायदा )

Friends, we all know that Rotary was formed in 1905 at  Chicago. The main motto behind it was friendship and fellowship. It was very well accepted in USA and other parts of the world and Rotary grew. In 1917, the Rotary officials felt that they had experts in various fields and also had wealthy members and there was a lot of need to serve the community and underprivileged people. So Rotary decided to carry out service projects for poor and needy. So Rotary formed a trust which is now known as The Rotary Foundation. This trust is the  backbone in carrying out bigger and bolder projects, which helps in the upliftment of the underprivileged members of the society. So it is the responsibility of all the rotarians to make this trust strong by generously donating, consistently every year towards Rotary Foundation.

There are various modes to donate to Foundation such as 1) Annual  fund 2) Polio Plus Fund 3) Endowment Fund 4) Restricted giving to Global Grants and CSR Grants & 5) Planned giving ( Benefactor/Beq...).

Annual fund is primary funding source for foundation grants. The foundation projects may give a vision to blind persons, provision of tap water to houses which will reduce the hardship of rural women, save the life of premature babies due to baby warmers. Also, save the life of babies having heart problems by carrying out paediatric cardiac surgeries. The schools which are  in the bad conditions will be transformed  to Happy schools. So if  every member consistently donates to the annual fund, wonders will be created and the dream of the transformed best society will come true!

Our yearly APF goal is $ 1million. Our Foundation team is working hard towards this goal with the help of club presidents and foundation directors. Due to generous donors, we have crossed milestone of $ 2.50 lakhs in October 2024. Happy to share that in this year we have crossed all time high of each month till October and I am sure that with the help of all rotarians of District 3131 we will do good work and achieve the desired targets of the  donations towards Annual Fund.

The foundation seminar is on 30th of November. On behalf of the entire Foundation team, I make an apple to everyone to work hard so as to move towards our district goal of $1 million. Let's meet at the foundation seminar to  celebrate the achievements. I request all rotarians to attend the seminar in large numbers and appreciate the good work done by the clubs and individuals.

I am quite sure that with the help and  support from all the members of District 3131,  we will achieve all the goals of the Avenue.
