In a remarkable transformation, Rotary Club of Pune Sports City, in collaboration with PubMatic India Pvt Ltd, has brought light to the small, remote hamlet of Fanasrai Wadi in the Rajmachi Ghat area. Previously shrouded in darkness, this village is now illuminated, significantly enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

Fanasrai, connected by a 7 km dirt road to Della Resort in Kune Village, is home to diverse wildlife, including leopards, wolves, snakes, mammoth squirrels and porcupines. Most residents undertake a long walk to Khandala for daily wage jobs. Recognizing the challenges faced by the community, the Rotary Sports City team provided lighting solutions for the 80 residents living in basic dwellings. This included the installation of 5 solar street lights, ensuring illumination for night-time activities at home and improved safety in the streets.

This initiative not only brings light to their homes but also enhances security, reduces the risk of wildlife encounters and allows residents to engage in productive activities after dark. The project's impact extends beyond mere illumination; it symbolizes hope and progress for the people of Fanasrai Wadi.
